Sorry but there are no know pictures (photos) of Unkas (Uncas).

In fact no real known photos of our people, the Eastern Woodland Native Americans around the New England Area at the time of life of, Shechaim Ohjieshan Unkas.

The first leader of my people.

The Moiigans (Maïngan – Yáw – Wolf-People).

Sachem Uncas (Shechaim Ohjieshan Unkas), 1588 -1683.

The closest this I am willing to show you is a group of our people, overlooked by this government, and very real to any Eastern Woodland Native Americans around the New England Area.

Would by a tribe of my relations.

Many artists draw what they believe to be, what he looked like by comparing him to other tribes.

Remember a few points;

http://mysmudgingblog.blogspot.com/2016/07/photos-of-uncas.html

there were still plenty of trees and many bushes and briers around the area, not as much as at first contact but a lot.

Our first Shechaim (Sachem), had many enemies, people wanting to by the leader of his people.

Therefore, the hair could not look like the plains and western Indians.

Running after food (game) or from enemies, or after an enemy, should not be slowed because of tangled hair.

New England has four seasons and our people dressed accordingly.

Furs and skins in the winter.

Skins in the spring and fall.

Very little in the summers.

Shechaim Ohjieshan Unkas Head Clan mother was Manoma (Martha)his wife.

Shechaim Ohjieshan Unkas-War Chief Cauchegan.

Yours truly on the way to prayer on our prayer rock.

Native Americans in the area did not wear a ‘war bonnett they wear a Roach Hairpiece made from porcupine.

In 1626 and still a Pequot his father Shechaim Owaneco arranged a marriage to the Pequot War-chief, Tatobem (Sassacus).

Thank you for your kind words my friend.
I always try my best to answer each question to the best of my knowledge and ability however, when the question is outside of this country, if possible, I try even harder.
