Tobacco (Herbs) as a Traditional Native American Gift

Yes, we have been writing a number of times about our ‘tobacco’.

However, because there is still much confusion on the internet and the subject is very important, one more time.

Welcome Minneapolis Minnesota

We have been to gatherings in your state.

To one of our postings about

Tobacco (Herbs) as a Traditional Native American Gift.

Your state Minnesota is just west of the Mississippi River and our people come from around the New England area, so of course some culture would be different.

I noticed that when it comes to tobacco, any tobacco would suffice; this is the culture of the Indians from your state.

In the ceremonies and culture of our ancestors, this would be a shocker.

It is not ever a judgment as to which is correct, it is only important to use Creators gifts to Mother Earth in a prayer to Creator for a blessing.

We believe that Whiteman’s cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco, contain chemicals and can cause cancer, so we do not use them in any of our ceremonies.

The Tobacco

(Kinnick – Kinnick, a group of Herbs)

that was given to our ancestors through Mother Earth, by Kiehtan (Creator), does not have chemicals.

As stated above, there is no right or wrong, there is always prayer to and blessings from Creator.
